The White Hart Royal Hotel was once known as a coaching inn. And its reputation was greatly enhanced when King Charles I sheltered at the inn following the battle of Marston Moor on July 2nd 1644.
The main part of White Hart was built of Cotswold sandstone under a pegged oak roof in the early 17th century. It was then substantially extended in 1773 and 1782, and now these original Grade II listed buildings have been substantially restored creating a lovely and charming character Coaching Inn with modern facilities.
This stunning hotel is located in ‘Moreton in Marsh‘, located in the centre of the North Cotswolds. It is the only town with a main railway station. White Hart Royal is also only 10 to 15 minutes walk from the station too.

The Best Hotel in The Cotswolds
The perfect Cotswolds location! Modern, lovely rooms, great choice of food in both the bar and restaurant areas. This is one of the best hotels in the Cotswolds which I’ve stayed to date. The rooms were spacious with fantastic views, and the staff at the White Hart Royal in the Cotswolds were extremely helpful and welcoming – Nothing was too much trouble! I am looking forward to returning next year…
